1. The body is a unified whole: Osteopathy regards the human body as an integrated system in which all parts are interconnected. Osteopaths focus on treating the body as a whole, seeking to identify and address the root causes of imbalance and dysfunction.
2. Self-healing mechanism: Osteopathy believes in the body's natural ability to heal itself. Osteopathic therapy supports this process by stimulating and activating the body's self-healing mechanisms.
3. Structure influences function: Osteopathy examines the relationship between the structure and function of the body. When the body's structure is in proper balance, its function will be optimal. Osteopathic therapy aims to restore and maintain proper structure to support health and mobility.
